Her Bally” is a series that seeks to illustrate the way individuals present a crafted version of themselves to fit into society. ‘She see’s Dublin’ is the first in this series.

The expressions in the starting faces in the artwork reflects the mood each city evokes in me, while the mask symbolizes our collective adaptation in the pursuit of belonging. Through this work, I explore the duality of human existence: three faces, one person, genuine emotions masked for conformity.

Moreover, the piece aims to highlight the pervasive nature of digital alteration in our society, particularly in advertising and online media. We are fast approaching a world where it will be nearly impossible to distinguish between what is digitally generated and what is reality. This is why the foundational starting point of the piece is 3D digital characters.

The painting over the 3D digital faces will be influenced by the specific location in which it is created, mirroring the unique atmosphere and essence of the place. Accompanying this visual representation, the text featured in the piece will consist of raw and unfiltered expressions of my emotions in the moment, as well as the occurrences around me during the live painting process. Witnessing the creation process firsthand might be one of the final ways to verify how an artwork was genuinely created in this digital age.

This artwork is a testament to the complex interplay between authenticity and societal expectations, capturing the ever-changing narrative of identity and place, and challenging our perception of reality in an increasingly digital world.
